I’ve been away for like a gajillion years cause nothing has moved me enough to write about it. I think it’s fitting that my first post after such a long absence would have something to do with shit that totally sucks. I can not emphasize it enough: this TOTALLY sucks. I mean, what the FUCK is this shit? I wanted my friend Chris to draw mustaches on their faces in this photo, but I feel like the level of suck is obvious enough - no defacing required.
This ain’t no daily bummer, bitches - it’s mo

As demonstrated in the following totally epic slice of rock and roll history, it doesn’t, and probably won’t EVER, get much crazier than Jerry fucking Lee Lewis.

As reported by wooha.com - The two surviving members of the Fat Boys, Prince Markie Dee and Kool Rock-Ski recently announced they are planning a reunion that would include an album, tour and reality show. Although third member Buffy passed away in 1995, the two surviving members are set to show the world the new Fat Boys.
“I’m weighing in at 185 these days, people are encouraged and motivated to see a slim and trim Fat Boy,” said Kool Rock-Ski. No current word yet on exact details of the plan or who w
So sometimes I don’t sleep, and this time I was perusing my youtube channel and noticed that I hadn’t posted this Boney M video on the weapon yet. Sorry! I uploaded a stolen copy to my youtube account in February of 2006, back when like, 10 people had youtube, and 2 years later it has over 3 million views and nearly 3 thousand comments. I think it gets something like 12 thousand new hits a week. Ridick. Dig the video for Boney M’s hit about Russian maniac, Rasputin. Oh and get this: it was produced by
If I had to pick a label to give a best of 2008 award to, It’d probably be a toss up between Mute and 4AD, with Matador, In the Red, and XL recordings trailing closely behind them. Latest from Mute Records: upcoming release from legendary new wavers Depeche Mode, and tour dates in 2009. EPIC. I saw Depeche Mode once, in like 2000 or 2001 - my friend called me up at the last second to ask me to meet him at the staples center in like an hour or two to use his leftover VIP ticket. They were playing with Poe.
This is a little bit further onto the “emo” side than the weapon usually ventures, but imma be honest here: these guys make some pretty decent tunes, and half of you who expect to hate it will probably be into Jack’s Mannequin. Buzznet’s Resonate sessions have brought you another zinger - this week’s feature: 4 [...]
Continuing in the tradition of the pope, here’s your random Kylie Minogue update:
“Kylie Minogue is reportedly working on a musical based on her hit songs and has asked Australian novelist Kathy Lette to be involved. In other Kylie news, British tabloid reports claimed that security has tightened around Minogue’s Nov. 20 show at the opening [...]
Was anyone planning to mention that Beach House was playing in LA next week? I mean, there are seriously WAY too many decent shows coming up within the next four weeks, and I will probably have to miss some of them but not this one! Jeesh! I’m glad I found it. Beach House are about [...]
High Places hail from Brooklyn and this was my third time seeing them. The band's sound is full of lovely contradictions. They write music that feels like summertime - and not that loud beach party sort of summertime, but more like a summer you've had and remember. To me, summer has always seemed distant - even in July. Only as I reach its conclusion do I realize how much has really happened. High Places grab onto that feeling and take it somewhere new. As Rob Barber tends childlike, tempests of burping a
Everyone’s favorite sisters have scheduled 6 live shows in November - the first since 2006, I think. Unfortunately all shows will be at the House of Blues, but still - The Sisters of Mercy?! Are you kidding?!?! In the words of my roommate, “Do you think this means Andrew will wear Mickey Mouse ears?! Oh, lordy lordy lordy… I think this is one of those signs the world is ending.. Like soon.” What she means: 2008 has already given us (when I say ‘us’ I mean L.A. - not to exclude, sorry) Portishe
